Shalom, and happy morning to you. This spiritual walk is a hike, on an unmarked, hard-to-find path in deep woods; a path that meanders as it rises and falls through dense undergrowth that is filled with wildlife. It is lonely and trying, and, if you’re spiritually out of shape, it will be brutal on you, just as any real hike would be. The path is narrow and extremely long, and sometimes you’ll come to spots that are unclear, forcing you to decide on which way to turn. At those times, you’ll have to ask Yah for guidance and direction through daily prayer so that you remain on the right path.

Every hiker must travel with provisions also, because you’ll sweat and lose fluids, risking dehydration, and you’ll need food to boost your energy. And when it gets dark, you need some form of light to keep you going in the darkness. Yeshua is the bread of life and the water of life, and the law of Yah is a light onto our path. That means the very Scriptures we read on a daily basis is essential to our spiritual hike, providing everything we need.

Now, while the path is traversed by very few, seeing it is hard to find, and it is narrow, allowing room for one hiker at a time, know that you’re never the only one on this path. Someone is always traveling behind you or ahead of you. You may or may not see them, but they are there also, going through all the difficulty you’re encountering, and enjoying all the wonderful views and highlights you enjoy. Some of us are privileged enough to travel in a company, others travel alone, but we all have to walk the path ourselves and bear the arduous journey as individuals. We’re all headed in one direction, never looking back, and the destination is more than worth it. But only those who hike the long path—who walk in Yah’s ways—will get the reward at the end of the journey.
