After receiving the call to repentance, never turn back from the path.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. Since receiving the call to repent and turn away from our wicked ways, it has been of paramount importance to stay the course and continue on the path of righteousness. For leaving this narrow path means returning to our old modes of thinking and living, which are filled with all manner of defilements. The sad truth is, many were enticed to do just that. Having heard the Good News of the Kingdom, being endowed with the light of the Word from on high, their hearts were initially charged with righteousness. But, as time wore on, and the path grew narrower and lonelier and appeared more difficult than they first bargained for, turning back to their worldly ways, they decided, was a more appealing choice. The emissary Peter addresses this problem in his second letter:
20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Master and Savior Yeshua HaMashiach, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the pure commandment delivered to them. 22 What the true proverb says has happened to them: The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.
